Although it is known as Cas Concos, the full name is Cas Concos des Cavallers. Its name comes from the Obrador Conco family, in the 16th century, who had a large property with many lands in that area and who were owners of the “Galera” cavalry, famous throughout the island for the majesty and robustness of their horses, of hence the second name “d'Es Cavallers”.
Numerous old and traditional properties are located on the outskirts of the town, these manor homes can still be distinguished because they are still intact and revive the architectural history of the island despite the fact that some families that ran these lands have disappeared. For example, the Roig family, who were landowners and gave their name to “Es Puig den Roig”, a hill on the outskirts of the town today erroneously known as Hamburg Hill.
